Vietnam Relocate earns commissions from some outbound links. Here's exactly which links, how it works, and why it doesn't change what we recommend.

Affiliate Disclosure

Vietnam Relocate is an independent publication. We don’t run display ads, and we don’t sell sponsored content. The site is funded in part by affiliate commissions — when you click certain outbound links and sign up for a product, the company pays us a small referral fee. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you see is the price you pay.

Every affiliate link on this site is marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" in its HTML, per FTC and search-engine guidelines. Where an affiliate product is recommended in body copy, you’ll find a disclosure note below the link or in the page’s sidebar.

Current affiliate partners:

  • NordVPN — VPN service, recommended on our VPN guide and on pages where internet connectivity is discussed.

Planned (not yet live):

  • Wise — international money transfers, for banking and cost-of-living pages.
  • SafetyWing — expat health insurance, for healthcare and visa pages.
  • iVisa — e-visa processing assistance, for visa guide pages.
  • Booking.com — hotel bookings, for arrival-logistics pages.

As partnerships come online, this page will be updated.

How we decide what to recommend

Our editorial rule is simple: we only recommend tools we’d point a friend to without a commission. Commissions are a funding mechanism, not a ranking mechanism.

In practice that means:

  • We choose the tool first, then check whether an affiliate program exists.
  • When the better tool has no affiliate program, we recommend it anyway and link to it without payment attached.
  • We don’t accept “sponsored placements” or pay-for-ranking offers. If an affiliate approaches us to rank higher in return for a bonus, we decline.
  • Comparison tables include competitors without affiliate links where needed for honest context (e.g., our VPN guide lists Surfshark and ExpressVPN alongside NordVPN even though we only earn from Nord).

If we change our opinion on a recommended product, we’ll update the page or drop the link — whether or not commissions continue.

Why affiliate funding instead of ads

Ads would pay per pageview, which creates pressure to churn out thin, high-volume content. Affiliate commissions pay per genuine recommendation, which aligns our incentives with yours: we only earn if you find our recommendation useful enough to act on.

It also means no auto-playing video ads, no pop-ups, no invasive tracking pixels on the site beyond privacy-respecting analytics (Plausible, no cookies).

FTC & regional disclosure compliance

This page, combined with the per-link rel="sponsored" attribute and in-context disclosures on pages containing affiliate links, is intended to meet disclosure requirements under the US FTC guides, the UK ASA CAP Code, and the EU UCPD. It is not legal advice.
